Considerations when looking to buy Chromia.
Chromia is an open-source public blockchain developed by the Swedish company Chromaway AB. In May 2019, the Chroma token (CHR), was launched. The technology behind Chromia's blockchain is adapted form an older technology called 'Postchain' that was provided by Chromaway AB to enterprise clients.
Chromia is a standalone layer-1 blockchain and an EVM compatible Layer-2 addition for Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. It's designed to improve existing dApps, as well as allow for the creation and maintenance of next-generation dApps.
Rell is a programming language that uses a unique architecture, called relational blockchain. Rell can code and function in a similar way to SQL. This allows developers to take advantage of the immutability and security of blockchain, while still storing and managing data efficiently with relational databases.
Each dApp that runs on Chromia has its own sidechain, which is rooted on the main blockchain. Each application can scale faster and each developer has the option to choose from many fee structures. One application might require that users pay transaction fees in CHR, similar to the way Ethereum and Bitcoin work. However, another application could stake enough of CHR to reserve computational power and allow users to make unlimited transactions with no fees.
Chromia already has many applications that are built upon their blockchain. They use their chain as a decentralized storage platform and their Layer-2 enhancements. These applications include the DeFi options trading platform Hedget and open-world farming game My Neighbor Alice to the government land registry initiative LAC PropertyChain.
A new NFT standard, Chromia Originals is in development. It will be used as both a native standard on Chromia's Chain and as an enhancement layer for existing ERC-721 or BEP-721 tokens. These Layer-2 enhancements are being created in collaboration with My Neighbor Alice.
